Supported file formats
Nuxeo supports a range of Supported File Formats, for storage and management. Note that a subset of supported files can currently be rendered for display in Calisphere. For details, see Creating Objects.
File reformatting and digitization recommendations
Please consult the University of California Digital Reformatting Guidelines (UCDRG) for guidelines on preservation-level digital reformatting of text, image, audio, video, and motion picture film objects. The guidelines focus on preservation file formats suitable for long-term digital storage, and also include guidance for conducting QA review of files, including associated metadata, and ensuring that files intended for publication are web accessible (per the UC Information Technology Accessibility Policy and with reference to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards).
Security levels for files
Nuxeo is not intended for managing content including clinical or personally identifiable information (PII) whose disclosure would constitute a violation of HIPAA/HITECH, FERPA, or other similar statutes, regulations, or laws. Content containing PII should be redacted or anonymized prior to ingesting or uploading into Nuxeo. Our Nuxeo application use must comply with UC's Electronic Information Security Policy, IS-3. Please see UC's Systemwide Information Security's resource on protection level classification; note that Nuxeo's protection level classification is P2, and all content files stored in Nuxeo must fall within this provision.
Filenames
To ensure cross-platform compatibility and avoid potential system errors, you should avoid certain characters in filenames. This resource from Michigan Tech includes some general characters to avoid in filenames and directories.
Additionally, please avoid using "periods" within the filename - "periods" should be reserved for the filename extension only.
