Nuxeo does not currently support a method to reset your own password. All password changes will require some form of authentication, first. This page includes steps for users to work with Nuxeo Administrators to set up a new password.

New user accounts (new passwords)

Please see the “Creating a New Nuxeo User Account" section. If a password has already been set for you, but you do not know it, please work with your campus admin to update your password (see "Existing “user” accounts (updating passwords)" below).


Existing Nuxeo Administrator accounts (updating passwords)

If Nuxeo Administrators would like to change their password, they will need to be logged into Nuxeo to do so. 

Nuxeo Administrator logs into Nuxeo

  • Click on “Admin” (found in the top navigation) and chose “Users & Groups” (in the dropdown)
  • Search for the user; click on the user
  • On the user page, go to the “Change Password” tab
  • Set and confirm your new password. (Your password will be case sensitive.)
  • Save this information. Please save your password information securely.

Note: If Nuxeo Administrators are unable to log in, please contact us to set up a temporary password.



Existing “user” accounts (updating passwords)

If Nuxeo users would like to change their password, they will need to be logged in to Nuxeo to do so. If you have forgotten your password (or do not know it), please ask your Nuxeo Administrator to set up a temporary password. The Nuxeo Administrator should share this password securely, and the user should update this password as soon as possible.

Step 1: Nuxeo Administrator logs into Nuxeo

  • Click on “Admin” (found in the top navigation) and chose “Users & Groups” (in the dropdown)
  • Search for the user; click on the user
  • On the user page, go to the “Change Password” tab
  • Set a new (temporary) password. (The password will be case sensitive); and save.
  • Share this with the user

Step 2: User to use the temp password to log in, and then set a new password

  • Choose name (icon found in the top navigation bar), and select "Preferences" in the dropdown

  • On the next page, choose "Profile" on the left navigation; Choose "Actions" (found on the right), and select "Change Password"

  • Enter the temporary (old) password (provided by your Nuxeo campus admin), and set a secure (new) password 

  • Your password should now be updated. Please save your password information securely.
