Welcome to the new OAC! This page includes information about accessing the OAC Dashboard for your first time and provides an introduction to the new OAC public website, with a request to review your institution's description on the new website.

OAC Dashboard: login and submit finding aids

As part of the transition to the upgraded OAC system, we have created a new dashboard and submissions system. The new OAC Dashboard can be accessed through this new URL: https://dashboard.oac.cdlib.org/

Please follow the steps below to access the OAC Dashboard.

1: Your user name

Your user name is your email address. It is not case sensitive.

Note that this is the email address you provided to OAC at the time your account was created. If you have since changed your email address, but have not provided the update to OAC, then it is likely that an older form of your email address is in our OAC user database. Please contact us if you are unsure of your email address.

*If you are a new user, please contact us and we can help you set up a new user account.

2: Reset your password

You will need to create a new password. On the sign-in page, please choose the "Forgot your password?" link. This will take you to a new page, where you can input your email address.

Please check your email (including Spam and Junk folders) and follow the instructions provided in that email. Please contact us if you do not receive instructions.

Your password will be case sensitive.

3: Verify your designated repositories

Once logged in, please choose the "My Account" link in the top navigation.

On that page, you will see your name, your email address (also your username), as well as a list of repositories your account is associated with. These are the repositories that your account has designated permissions to manage finding aids. Please contact us if this list is incorrect.

Ready to manage your finding aids?

We’ve updated all of our documentation! Here are some highlights to help you get started:

OAC Website: review institution information

The new OAC website has launched! Please help us verify your institution information. The public OAC website can continue to be accessed through: https://oac.cdlib.org/

1: Review your institution contact information

OAC includes an A-Z list of contributing institutions. Please navigate to that page, and find your institution(s). Clicking on an institution page will then display the institution’s contact information.

Please verify the contact information, and contact us with any revisions you would like to make.

2: Review your institution description

Any given institution’s landing page includes a brief description about that institution, if that information has been provided to OAC.

Please verify the institution description, and contact us with any revisions if you’d like to update the description.

3: Review your institution landing page URL

Institution landing page URLs have changed: We have instrumented redirects for the old URLs to redirect to the new URL structure. For example, the old URL structure “https://oac.cdlib.org/institutions/GLBT+Historical+Society” redirects to the new URL structure “https://oac.cdlib.org/institutions/glhs”. You can find this new URL by going to the A-Z list of contributing institutions, locating your institution, and right-click to “Copy Link Address.” Any extant links (e.g., from your institution’s website, LibGuides, publications, etc.) do not need to be updated, since the old URLs will be redirected.

For institutions that have had a hierarchical parent-level and sub-repository: OAC no longer supports a parent-level (i.e., campus-level) institution grouping, and these URLs will redirect to the OAC home page. For example:

  • UC Irvine has 5 repositories listed (UC Irvine, Critical Theory Archive; UC Irvine, Orange County Regional History; UC Irvine, Southeast Asian Archive; UC Irvine, Special Collections; and UC Irvine, University Archives). These repository-level URLs redirect to their analogous pages.
  • UC Irvine’s parent-level URL (e.g., https://oac.cdlib.org/institutions/UC+Irvine) will now redirect to the OAC home page. When you have a moment, please review and update your institution landing page URLs.
