The Online Archive of California and Calisphere are expected to be available 24/7 (with the exception of the scheduled maintenance times). For system outages, check our status page. We’ll also provide updates on our OAC/Calisphere Help Center.

You may receive the following types of error pages on our site, for the following reasons:

"Not Found"

  • The link you've entered or followed has a typo in it
  • The link you've followed previously led to an item on our site that is no longer available (e.g., removed by contributing institution)
  • The item you're looking for has not yet been published (but has been assigned a "future URL")

"An Unexpected Error Has Occurred"

  • There is an error with our servers that support OAC and/or Calisphere. If you continue to receive this particular error message (and it is not noted as a system outage on our status page), then please contact us.
