The process for submitting EAD, MARC21, and supplemental PDF files is largely "self-serve": your OAC account gives you the keys to be able to upload and publish collection guides. But before you can submit these files, you'll need to create a connection to our server. This is a one-time setup process. (Note for RecordEXPRESS users: this setup is not required for creating and submitting collection guides using RecordEXPRESS).

Here are instructions for common systems:

Windows 10

  1. From the Start menu, select Windows System->This PC
  2. In the new window, right-click and select “Add a Network Location”
  3. Click "Choose a custom network location" and click on "Next"
  4. Enter your complete (i.e., include "https") EAD Production Directory URL in the Internet or Network Address field, and click "Next". You can obtain that URL through your OAC Dashboard
  5. Enter your OAC username and password for authentication and click "OK"
  6. Provide a descriptive name for the new network location (e.g., "EAD Production")
  7. Repeat steps 1-6 for your EAD Testing Directory URL (and the URLs for MARC21 and supplemental PDF files, if you plan to submit them); you can obtain those URLs through your OAC Dashboard
